How do you deactivate yahoo email account for a person who passed away?

My aunt passed away in April'11 - Lately we're getting a spam from her yahoo email account. It seems like someone has gotten a hold of her password and using her account. It's disturbing to see these disgusting emails come from her account. There is no way of contacting Yahoo unless you have a business account it appears.|||A person does not need access to an account to spoof the address. I can use Thunderbird to send email with ANY from address I wish. Closing the account would probably have no effect unless they were actually in the account.

You must send a copy of her death certificate to Yahoo.

They don't send the emails from her computer; that is why you won't see them in her Sent file. By the time you change your password or run your anti-spyware, they are long-gone. It is not a sign that her account was hijacked or hacked. They just wanted the list of active email addresses. They send out one or 2 spams and then they are done. You can contact help.yahoo.com since there is no longer phone support for email. Her account will close after 4 months of no activity.
